travel blog, minus the bull$hit

Of my many trips to Austin, I can now conclude there are 3 main things to do each and every time you go:

1. Eat amazing food– their fuck truck scene has grown INSANE over the years (they serve beer everywhere too!!!)
2. Rock ya Doc Marten’s and put on your most fashionable (weather appropriate) fit and chill at one of Austin’s million different hipster cafes (yes…they also serve beer. Even at coffee shops. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere)
3. PARTYYYYY R.I.P. liver

6th Street in Austin, made up of West 6th, East 6th, and what is notoriously known as “Dirty Sixth,” is a popular street filled with bars, clubs, live music, food, and amazing people! I’ve been told if getting arrested is on your bucket list, Dirty Sixth is probably the place you can easily check that off.

Here a couple things you should expect if you’re in the area:

• The main street is closed Thurs-Sunday so people can walk about freely around the area without worrying about getting hit by cars
• Lots and I mean LOTS of live music. Austin is known as the live music capital of the world, after all
• Literally a street that is bar after bar after bar. My favorite spot to wind down would be Valhalla E-Sports bar just to chill and play some Mario Cart and stuff. I’m usually too drunk to remember the names of all the bars we hit up #sorrynotsorry
• Random street interviewers for their YouTube/TikTok channels (shoutout to my brothers over at KreamTeam Podcast)
• All the FOOD TRUCKS (AKA my favorite place to cry at 2AM because I get emotional when I am hungry and/or tired)
• Great vibes ❤ My last trip I was lucky enough to tag along with some girls I met in Hawaii, linked up with some other old friends, and temporarily merged with a random bachelorette party!
• I know “Keep insert city here weird” is a slogan that many cities tend to adopt, but man. Austin is such a unique place. No place says “Keep Austin Weird,” quite like this street. 6th street definitely has a personality of its own.

Just remember: this street is famous for a reason!
