Airplane Must Haves

Here’s a list of my ultimate must have items that I include in my under seat personal item, especially when I’m hopping on a long haul flight.

Airfly Bluetooth Transmitter

Great device to connect to in-flight entertainment especially if you don’t want to use the wired headphones provided by your airlines. Pretty convenient considering you can also connect 2 sets of Airpods (or Beats, haven’t tried any other devices yet) so two people can listen at the same time. It’s basically the wireless equivalent for headphone splitters.

Ear plugs

Opposite vibe from those of you who want to wirelessly connect to in-flight entertainment- my favorite pair of ear plugs are from Loop. Super cute and fashionable compared to standard foam ear plugs. They have a great variety of noise cancellation/reduction levels:

  • Loop Quiet – 27dB Noise Cancelling for sleep, flights, noise sensitivity
  • Loop Engage – 16 dB & NRR 10 for low level noise reduction with clear speech for conversation/social gatherings
  • Loop Experience – 18dB Noise Cancelling for concerts, motorcycles, etc. (I have this pair and love it!)
  • Loop Experience Plus –  18dB & NRR 7 Noise Reduction for musicians, DJs, concerts, nightlife

If you’re unsure if what type to purchase, Loop has a quiz on their website to help you out.

3D Eye Mask

I find these to be much more comfortable (and lash friendly for my ladies with extensions! Tried and tested at 10mm length, can’t comment any longer that than) than the standard eye masks. They are contoured to better fit your eye shape (space for lashes!!!!), adjustable, and do a fantastic job at blocking out the light for a more peaceful rest. Also really great at not smudging minimal eye make up.

Here are some options you may want to check out:

  • 3D sleep mask
  • Apparently this one is great for side sleepers (off the plane, obviously. Unless you boujie and fly business then that’s none of my business) according to reviews

Portable Charger

While most airplanes tend to have sockets to plug in your chargers nowadays, not all of them do. Best to always pack a portable charger with you just in case.

Hand Sanitizer

For obvious reasons, ya filthy beast.

I’ve been a huge fan of the Touchland brand of hand sanitizer, but more so for aesthetic/pretentious reasons since it’s small, cute, and smells nice. Yes. The influencers got me. Also, this is the only alcohol-based hand sanitizer that doesn’t painfully sting the eczema on my hand.

Gum!

For those of you paranoid about your ears popping, chewing on gum or sucking on hard candy is a good idea as they induce swallowing.

Travel Pillow

Lately I’ve been absolutely adoring the turtl neck pillow my brother got me for Christmas. It provides great neck supports to keep your head in place while you doze off.

Lip Balm

Especially for those of you who constantly deals with dry lips.

  • LANEIGE is one of my all time favorite brands for lip products
    • Mini size Lip Sleeping Mask from YESSTYLE here (use code MAYBEKRYS1 for a discount)
    • Variety 4-pack Lip Sleeping Mask from YESSTYLE here use code MAYBEKRYS1 for a discount)
    • Glowy Lip Balm from Sephora or Amazon
  • Blistex
    • Medicated Lip Balm (unflavored) from Amazon
  • ChapStick
    • Classic Collection on Amazon

  1. I always make sure that whatever shirt I am wearing has at least one roomy chest pocket, to accomodate the necessary tissue, lip balm, and whatever without having to struggle to get them out of a pants pocket blocked by the seat belt.
