Unfortunately during my most recent work travel I caught a nasty case of Covid-19 (round dos!) and ended up stuck in Houston for a few extra days quarantined to my hotel room. The silver lining here is that Houston has one of the largest Vietnamese populations in the USA- which means pho every day, baby!!! I am an absolute sucker for a good bowl of soup when I’m sick or hungover, and banh mi’s I adore in general.
Special shoutout to the innovative minds that put together food delivery apps such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc. Y’all saved my life out there pho real (get it?).
The way I was dying in my hotel room was no joke but I am incredibly grateful that I did not lose my sense of taste/smell during this round of Covid-19. I know that round wouldn’t been a lot worse if I wasn’t vaccinated and boosted! Get ya booster shots, y’all.
Since I was ordering off a food delivery app, I can’t really comment on their dine-in experience. This is also written from the perspective of someone who was borderline dying in bed at some point.
Unsurprisingly ranked #15 on Yelp for top 100 places to eat in the US 2023.
