As 2023 draws to a close, I’ve taken a moment to look back on a year that I was absolutely exhausted from working my corporate job, taking grad school classes, and somehow also being on a plane at least one a month. It was a year of reopening doors and rediscovering the joy of exploration, from bustling city streets to tranquil natural retreats. 2023 was full of unforgettable friendships, destinations, and experiences that defined my travels, the a year that reminded me of the endless wonders our world has to offer.
I’m still catching up on writing about my 2023 adventures, but to summarize my travels here are the amazing places I’ve been this past year:
January: Austin, Denver
February: Austin
March: Houston, Maryland
April: Bermuda, San Diego, Hawai’i
May: Hawai’i
June: LA, Costa Rica
July: Mexico (Valle de Guadalupe)
August: HITC festival in LA and OSL festival in SF 🥳
September: Austin
October: Lake Tahoe, Austin, NJ, NY
November: LA, Alberta
December: Hawai’i, Austin, Houston
I seem to have focused more on local US destinations in 2023!
As we stand on the brink of 2024, armed with a slightly battered map (more like Google maps with occasionally poor reception) and a heart full of excitement (anxiety?), let’s promise to keep our sense of humor packed snugly next to our travel socks and slippahs. There are more laughs to be had, more ‘oops’ moments to navigate, and an endless road of adventures waiting for us. So, here’s to getting gloriously lost, finding new paths, and collecting a suitcase full of memories along the way. Bring it on, 2024 – I’m ready for you and all the adventure you’re bringing! 🎒🌟✈️
Also since I damn near lost my mind this past year, I will be taking less grad school classes and will try my best to take it easy! Don’t forget to take care of your mental health, y’all.
