5 Places to Visit in the SF Bay Area

Pulgas Water Temple

Hidden away in Redwood City is this gorgeous, picturesque gem of a water temple. Nothing much to do here aside from enjoy a picnic, relax, and snap a few photos.

Be mindful of their 9AM-4PM opening hours. The parking lot is usually closed on the weekends and entry to the temple is prohibited if there are ongoing events such as weddings, etc.

Redwood City also really loves boasting about their “Climate Best by Government Test” which has been up as their slogan apparently since 1925!

Palace of Fine Arts

One of the many activities you may find yourself doing in San Francisco is wandering around the Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina district.

It’s free to visit but beware of parking especially on a sunny day in the city! Many people like to enjoy a little picnic on the grass surrounding the lagoon.

You’ll see a lot of folks having little photoshoots in the area, it’s quite the sight.

and uhhhhh beware of car break ins

16th Avenue Tiled Steps

A beautiful 163-step stairway located within Inner Sunset. Parking here is usually a breeze (at least in my experience).

Cheesecake Factory at Union Square

Located on the top for of Macy’s, this Cheesecake Factory offers the best overlooking view of Union Square! Tbh food is pretty mid, but be sure to snag a table by the ledge and maybe enjoy a nice snack or drink.

Leo J. Ryan Park

Foster City weather is usually quite beautiful. Leo J. Ryan Park is a great place to go paddle boarding, especially since it hosts a man made lake, so no need to worry about any gnarly waves coming your way.

If the rental store is open, they rent out kayaks, paddle boards, and gear for windsurfing. They also offer windsurfing lessons when the season is right, but beware of incredibly long waitlists.

During the summer you’ll also find Off the Grid in the area for some fantastic food truck options.

And for you bocce ball lovers out there, they have a court at this park!
