Growing up, whenever I heard someone say Bermuda I would always associate it with the popular Bermuda Triangle and all the myths associated with it. My thoughts stayed the same up until I actually met a girl from the country of Bermuda! Last month I had the pleasure of flying out there for her wedding and leading up to the trip I would joke around with everyone that if my location in Find my Friends starts blinking in and out, then consider me lost to the triangle.
Surprisingly, it is only about 2.5 hours from the nearest mainland US state. But do keep in mind that Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory– US citizens will still need their passport to enter (visa not needed) despite proximity.
I’ve never seen water so blue, beaches so pink, and a country be so goddamn expensive?? The one thing that I will never fail to bring up is the fact that we paid $15 for a dry ass rotisserie chicken from a grocery store, when we only pay $5 back home for a juicy Costco rotisserie chicken.
Pictures/videos do not do this small island country justice. The people are so genuine and friendly, very likely the happiest people I have ever met! Rotisserie chicken pettiness aside, I did not expect it to be as breathtakingly beautiful as it is.
TLDR (not like this post is actually long): do your research before traveling to a foreign country, you may just end up in the world’s most expensive one.
